Paul’s Place Hot Dogs

Nothing makes me happier than seeing a little hole in the wall place and having the time to stop and check it out.  I was driving to Raleigh from my parent’s house near Ocean Isle Beach, NC, I was taking back roads to the highway and saw a little hot dog restaurant in the middle of nowhere.

Quick thoughts ran through my head, like 10a, am I really going to eat a hot dog.  I am going to Raleigh to meet friends for lunch, will I be hungry when I arrive?  Do I feel like turning around?  Guess what the answer is?  Yes, u-turn in the road and head back to Paul’s Place.

When you walk in, it’s a converted convenient store, there were also hand crafted items and jars of jelly and things of that nature.  I walked up to the counter and bought a dog and a Cheerwine.  The hot dog was a split top bun, their specialty was chili and relish mixed, mustard and onions.  You had me at split top bun.

I sat outside, talked to locals, ate my hot dog and carried on up the road, I had a bloody mary date in Raleigh.  Zooooooooooom.
